My Paintings

I like to explore the concept that our cultural and natural surroundings shape us; that individually, and as a society, we absorb of our surrounding cultural histories and landscapes.  I enjoy the challenge of capturing the physical aspects of a person along with something of the influences in the creation of their being.

I work with reduced observed drawings, colour is an important part of my work and is often unrealistic.  My work in textile design has certainly influenced my approach to composition.
