Before closing our Studio at Rathcahill I promised to list the paint colours we provided in our classes, so as you could build up your own collection and continue to paint and maybe, hopefully, join me again at some point and place in the future.
This is my default palette for both acrylic and oil painting, these are the colours I am most comfortable with and haven’t deviated from much over the 20 years of teaching!

The full range of colour I use: Titanium White / Ivory Black Yellows: Cadmium / Lemon / Ochre Reds: Cadmium / Crimson / Magenta Blues: Ultramarine / Cerulean / Cobalt / Prussian Browns: Burnt Sienna / Raw Umber If starting from scratch, I suggest beginning with: Titanium White Cadmium Red Cadmium Yellow Ultramarine Blue Then maybe add: Burnt Sienna Cerulean Blue Lemon Yellow
