I was fortunate to have been awarded a place on the European funded Craftlink programme. This is a programme of skills exchange between craftspeople of the midlands of Ireland and the midlands of Finland, run by the Local Development Boards. I hosted 10 Finnish people at Bramber Studio, introducing them to my work and demonstrating my process, then a couple of weeks later I, and four other Irish craftspeople, visited Finland. The studio visits were wonderful, the opportunity was an absolute privilege. Here’s a taste of our visit in images.

It was lovely also to spend time with my Irish companions – they were fun company! – and since coming home two of us have purchased weaving looms, goodness knows what we’ll create 🙂
